As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Western Virginia Comprehensive Treatment Centers to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

In adherence to the social distancing recommendations provided by the CDC, we have implemented strict protocols at our clinic to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

  • Patients who have active symptoms of illness or a fever of 100 degrees or higher must call ahead to arrange after-hours dosing.
  • The number of people allowed inside the building at any given time is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines.
  • The number of people waiting in line is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines, and those present must maintain a minimum distance of six feet from one another.
  • To maintain line restrictions, patients are asked to wait in their cars until direction is given.

New River/Galax Comprehensive Treatment Center combines prescription medications and therapeutic interventions designed to assist people in their pursuit of long-term recovery.

The team of highly qualified physicians, nurses, and counselors at New River/Galax Comprehensive Treatment Center provides patients with a safe environment in which to obtain the highest quality of treatment available to overcome an addiction to opioids. Our staff works closely with each patient to ensure that their individual needs are met. Our medical team prescribes and administers medications and puts forth every effort to ensure each patient’s safety while in our care. Medications that can be incorporated into a patients’ treatment plans at New River/Galax Comprehensive Treatment Center can include the following:

  • Subutex
  • Suboxone
  • Methadone

The specific medication prescribed as well as the particular dosage given will vary between patients depending on their individualized treatment needs, as well as their current status of health. Changes made throughout the course of treatment regarding medication and the dosage prescribed will be made to ensure the highest quality of care is received by all patients.
